The Reuse/Recycling Theme Team, bolstered by a generous Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) grant of $50,000, strives to harness the ecological potential of recycled construction materials. The Team will host technical workshops on the beneficial reuse of industrial byproducts, targeting states in the Mid-Atlantic Region. The workshops will bring together experts from all stakeholder groups to discuss the benefits of and barriers to building and maintaining highways constructed from reused and recylced materials and industrial byproducts. Such a candid exchange will facilitate the flow of information, thus creating an integrated decision-making process.
